Spring has sprung on international women’s month and A.S hosted a flower market on March 19 for students to make a flower bouquet in honor of a woman in their life.

Santa Monica College staff and faculty staged a walk out during Spring Professional Development Day, on March 17th as President Kathryn Jeffery took the stage to address the crowd. 

This was in support of the classified, or non educational, staff who had been given notices that they were being laid off due to the current budget crisis the school is facing.

SMC has over $1 million available in scholarships for students this year. A.S. director of equity and diversity Maliyah Ponce held a scholarship lab in collaboration with Black Collegians to help students learn more. There were members from the SMC Foundation, Financial Aid, and professors available to answer questions and give tips on how to write the best application.

SMC held their annual Club Row on Thursday May 7, hosting the variety of clubs that the school has to offer. This semester the theme was “fairytale” and the clubs went all out dressing up their booths and adding some whimsy as they shared more information about their clubs and ways to get involved.
